joshiyaraDue to the heavy rainfalls in Uttarakhand state from 14th to 17th June-13, district Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Tehri & Chamoli have been badly affected by the disaster. Shri Bhuvneshwari Mahila Ashram (SBMA) has immediately conducted the search, rescue & relief operation at many locations and also conducted the rapid assessment of the area of at Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi and Chamoli.  More then 100 employees of the organization were deployed for this operation and the team members have rescued to more then 5000 pilgrims and local people to safe places and also supported to government departments in relief camps and rescue operations.

uttarkashi1geIn Uttarkashi, the organization had started the relief camps at 5 locations immediately and served the breakfast, tea, potable water at 3 locations, helped to government and Sewa Ashram to run the relief camps at Maneri and Bhatwari locations also. In addition to this, health camps were also organized at many locations and provided first aid facilities, checkups & treatments and all these efforts are still going on.

As per rapid assessment done by different people in all 4 affected districts (Rudraprayag, uttarkashi, Chamoli & Tehri), more then 9000 families are highly & partially affected by the disaster, 765 houses are fully rudraprayagdamaged, 6917 houses are partially affected, 215 shops & hotels are fully damaged, 20 shops & hotels are partially affected and more then 500 families have lost their agriculture land. In Bhatwari block of Uttarkashi district, the road connectivity from Gangori onwards and up to Gangotri (approx. 95 km), Rudrapyarag onward up to Tilwara & Phata to Gorikund is highly damaged at many location and which is affecting the food supply, electricity, safe drinking water, schooling, transportation and health facilities of more then 60 villages. In addition to this, the agriculture land of many farmers have been wash out in Dunda block, Uttarkashi district and Jonpur block of Tehri District by the flash flood.
